Boko Haram Sets Four Vehicles Ablaze in Yobe

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have set four vehicles ablaze during an attack in Yobe State, escalating security concerns in Nigeria’s North East and disrupting movement along a key route in the region.

According to local sources, the attackers intercepted motorists travelling along the affected road before setting four vehicles on fire. The incident created panic among passengers and nearby communities, with many fleeing the area to avoid being caught in the violence.

Witnesses said the insurgents temporarily blocked the highway, forcing motorists to stop before carrying out the attack. Although the vehicles were completely destroyed by fire, reports indicate that several occupants managed to escape, while security agencies are still working to determine whether there were casualties or injuries.

Military personnel and other security operatives were later deployed to the scene to restore normalcy, secure the route and begin a search for the fleeing attackers. The affected road has since been reopened to traffic after clearance operations were completed.

Security officials have launched an investigation into the attack while intensifying surveillance and patrols across vulnerable communities in Yobe State. Authorities also urged residents and travellers to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities that could assist ongoing counterterrorism operations.
