A three day free solar installation training aimed at empowering youths with practical and income generating skills has been held at the Pastoral Centre of the Catholic Diocese of Jalingo.
The programme was organised by Foremmatech Solar and Engineering Services in collaboration with the Catholic Diocese of Jalingo as part of efforts to promote renewable energy adoption and reduce unemployment among young people.
Speaking during the training, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of ForeSolar MM TECH Engineering Services, Engineer Igwe Matthew, said the initiative was designed to equip participants with practical knowledge of solar technology.
He noted that the solar energy sector is expanding rapidly and offers significant employment and entrepreneurial opportunities due to the growing demand for alternative energy solutions.
Engineer Matthew added that the training is open to individuals interested in building careers in solar installation and related services.
In a related development, the company announced plans to officially open its office in Jalingo on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The event will take place at the Blueray Complex, Mile Six, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The office launch is expected to attract key stakeholders, prospective clients, and members of the public. It will also provide an opportunity for the company to showcase its range of products and services, including solar panels, inverters, and installation solutions.
According to the organisers, the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to expand access to clean energy while empowering youths with technical skills that promote self reliance.
Some of the participants, including Charles Cinderella Mading and Dennis Jeremiah Hassan, expressed satisfaction with the training and pledged to apply the knowledge they acquired to improve their livelihoods.
