Residents of Kakara, Kusuku, and Sabongari communities in the Mambilla axis are celebrating the installation of a solar mini grid power project facilitated through the intervention of Hon. Fanuel D. Lawrence, a political aspirant for the Gashaka, Kurmi and Sardauna Federal Constituency.

The renewable energy project, which is nearing completion, is being executed by Protergia Energy Ltd and is expected to provide clean, reliable, and sustainable electricity to households, small businesses, and public facilities within the benefiting communities.

Engineers supervising the installation disclosed that the solar mini grid system is designed with modern solar generation and battery storage technology capable of producing and distributing stable electricity, particularly to rural communities that have experienced limited access to conventional power supply for years.

The development follows an earlier assurance given by Hon. Lawrence during his familiarization visit to Kamkam Chiefdom this year, where he pledged that the solar electrification project would commence with Kakara and Kusuku communities, while Chana and Song Bariki are expected to benefit in subsequent phases.

The ongoing installation is widely viewed as a demonstration of his commitment to translating promises into practical development initiatives that directly impact rural communities.

Hon. Lawrence stated that facilitating the project aligns with his broader vision of attracting meaningful infrastructure and development programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of people across the constituency.

Residents of the benefiting communities have expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that access to stable electricity will stimulate economic activities, strengthen security, and significantly improve daily living conditions.

Community leaders also commended Protergia Energy Ltd for the ongoing execution of the project, describing it as a major step towards sustainable rural development in the area.
