Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has approved scholarships for more than 760 beneficiaries under the state’s 2025/2026 Local Scholarship Scheme to expand access to education and promote human capital development.
The Executive Secretary of the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board, Chukwuemeka Mbah, said the beneficiaries include over 500 undergraduate students, 100 postgraduate students, and 160 public sector teachers drawn from the state’s 17 local government areas.
He disclosed that successful applicants who passed the Computer Based Test (CBT) have begun receiving text messages and emails inviting them for verification and documentation.

According to him, the scholarship scheme underscores the governor’s commitment to supporting education and ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent qualified residents from pursuing higher education.
He urged successful candidates to complete the verification process promptly and encouraged eligible residents to apply, noting that additional beneficiaries would be captured in the next phase of the programme.
The state government said the initiative forms part of its broader investment in education through scholarships, infrastructure development, digital learning, and teacher capacity building.
