Team A Wins Dr. Agbu Kefas Veterans Championship in Jalingo

The Dr. Agbu Kefas Veterans Championship has ended in grand style in Jalingo, with Team A emerging champions after defeating Team C in the final match at the Main Bowl of the Jolly Nyame Stadium.

The final attracted a large crowd of football fans, sports veterans, government officials, and supporters who gathered to witness the climax of the competition.

The match showcased experience and competitive spirit as veteran players entertained spectators with quality football action.

At the end of regulation time, Team A defeated Team C to lift the championship trophy amid loud cheers from supporters.

The tournament was organised by Hon. Peter George as part of efforts to promote unity, friendship, and sportsmanship among veterans in Taraba State.

Governor Agbu Kefas was represented at the event by High Chief Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps, who commended the organisers for promoting peace and unity through sports.

Speaking after the match, the convener of the tournament, Hon. Peter George, who also played for Team A, praised Governor Agbu Kefas for his support for sports development in the state.

He said the veterans championship would continue with the aim of promoting unity, peaceful coexistence, and healthy living.

He also commended the smooth organisation of the tournament and the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by participants.

Dignitaries at the event included the Director General of the Governor Kefas Campaign Organization, Hon. Baido Danladi, and the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, Hon. Nurudeen Jalingo.

Also present were members of the Taraba State House of Assembly, including Hon. Nelson C. Len, representing Nguroje Constituency; Hon. Anas Shaibu, representing Karim One Constituency; and Hon. Abner Shittu, representing Karim Two Constituency.

The commissioners present were the Commissioner for Digital Economy and Innovations, Hon. Gideon Nonso; Commissioner for Waste Management, Hon. Shonzen Bernard; and Commissioner for Water Management and Aquatic Affairs, Hon. Daniel Ishaku Adda.

Other key stakeholders included the Chairman of the Taraba State Veterans Football Association and Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation, Pastor Luka Joel; the State Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority, Ernest Tarbo; and the Chairman of the Taraba State Sports Commission, Coach Bulus Useni.

The event featured award presentations, recognition of outstanding players, and prizes for participating teams.

It ended in a festive atmosphere, with celebrations by Team A supporters, entertainment performances, and renewed calls for continued investment in sports development across Taraba State.
