Gov. Babagana Zulum has approved the appointment of Engr. Peter Samuel as the new General Manager of the Borno State Agricultural Mechanization Authority (BOSAMA), reinforcing the state’s commitment to modernising agriculture.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, who said Samuel was selected based on his outstanding professional competence, extensive experience, and proven record in agricultural engineering and mechanisation.
According to the statement, the new BOSAMA chief possesses the technical expertise, leadership skills, and professional qualifications required to reposition the agency in line with the state’s agricultural transformation agenda.
Samuel is an agricultural engineer with years of experience spanning agricultural mechanisation, farm power and machinery, irrigation engineering, and agricultural infrastructure development.
He holds a Master of Engineering in Farm Power and Machinery from Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Farm Management and Production Economics from Nasarawa State University, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Agricultural and Environmental Resources Engineering from University of Maiduguri.
Currently a lecturer in Farm Power and Machinery at Ramat Polytechnic, Samuel has built a distinguished career in teaching, research, project implementation, and agricultural engineering practice.
He has also served in several strategic positions, including General Manager of a commercial agricultural enterprise, Project Coordinator, Programme Coordinator, and consultant on various agricultural development projects executed by national and international organisations. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE).
Governor Zulum congratulated Samuel on his appointment and urged him to apply his wealth of experience and technical expertise to strengthen BOSAMA’s operations and support the state’s drive to improve agricultural productivity and food security.
